Connor Miksch

PhD Student

Work hard, play hard, and do what you love. Connor received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical & Biological Engineering from University of Colorado Boulder in 2017. After graduating, he worked in the laboratory of Distinguished Professor Kristi S. Anseth as a laboratory manager and researcher for 6 years. During this time, he published and coauthored 3 papers while managing the laboratory and refining his expertise in biomaterials engineering, with a specific focus on MAP hydrogels. He developed logic-gated granular hydrogels formed from synthetically modified polymers to establish a library of injectable, cytocompatible hydrogel chemistries for modular multidimensional cellular culture. With a keen interest and understanding of biomaterials design, he is now joining the laboratory of Professor Tatiana Segura in 2023 as a PhD student, with a focus toward developing biomaterials for translational applications. Outside enjoying his time in lab, Connor is passionate about woodworking, rock climbing, skateboarding, and spending time with his family and friends.
