Shangjing Xin, PhD | Duke University - Segura Lab

Shangjing works on capturing pro-reparative signals using implanted MAP gels after stroke to extend the plasticity window and promote healing. An example image from his work shows the damage to the vascular network and the subsequent scar formation after stroke.

All he’s armed with is research. Shangjing joined the Segura Lab in January 2020. He earned his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in Biomedical Engineering in 2019. He graduated with an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Florida in 2015 and a B.S. in Food Science and Engineering from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2013. His research focuses on using microporous annealed particle hydrogels to trigger endogenous repair after stroke.
